MaDonald Gargan was hired by J. Jonah Jameson to investigate how Peter Parker took such incredible pictures of Spider-Man. Soon after, Jameson paid MacDonald $10,000 to be the subject of an experiment. It gave him the traits of a scorpion but also made him go insane. Gargan then wanted to kill Jameson but Spider-man has defeated him numerous times and prevented this.
